FantaCarte

Briscola scoring

In Briscola you do not count the cards you captured but their points. Only five cards per suit count: here is what they are worth, how to count at the end of the round and who wins.

What the cards are worth

CardPoints
Ace11
Three10
King4
Knight3
Jack2
7, 6, 5, 4, 20

Each suit is worth 11 + 10 + 4 + 3 + 2 = 30 points; the four suits make 120 points. Trumps are not worth more: an ace of trumps is worth 11 like the other aces, but it is stronger for winning tricks.

Who wins the round

A worked example

At the end of the round Anna looks at her captured cards and sets aside the ones that count: two aces (22), a three (10), three kings (12), two knights (6) and a jack (2). Total: 22 + 10 + 12 + 6 + 2 = 52 points.

There is no need to count Bruno's cards: there are 120 points in total, so Bruno has 120 − 52 = 68 and wins the round.

On FantaCarte the game does the counting: at the end of the round the scorepad shows the tricks taken, the card points and the rounds won.

In pairs

In Briscola in pairs the points captured by the two partners are added up: the pair that reaches at least 61 wins the round.

A counting trick

During the game, count only the carichi (aces and threes) that have been played: they are 84 of the 120 points. If you know how many carichi you have captured, you already know whether you are close to 61. More tricks in the Briscola tips.
