FantaCarte privacy
Last updated: October 2026. This is a translation: if it differs from the Italian version, the Italian version prevails. What data we use
- When you sign in with Google or email we receive from Firebase an identifier for your account, your name and, if there is one, your profile photo.
- If you join as a guest you don't give us any personal data: the browser remembers a code that links that device to your profile (nickname, picture, games). If you save your profile with Google or email, the profile moves to your account. The profile of a guest who doesn't save it is deleted after 90 consecutive days without playing.
- If you sign up with email and password, Firebase sends you an email to confirm your address and, if you ask for it, one to choose a new password. The address is used only for signing in: we don't send advertising.
- If you invite friends, you send the game link yourself with the app you choose (WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, email…): we don't read your contacts.
- We store the nickname you choose, your profile picture, your game statistics (games played, won and lost, burracos, closes, points) and your list of friends.
- Chat messages stay only at the table during the game and are not saved. Only if a player reports the chat are the latest messages from that table kept together with the report, so the moderators can review it.
- The chat is moderated: swearing, blasphemy and insults are blocked automatically. Moderators can block a player's chat for a period (from 12 hours to a week) or suspend the account; these decisions are recorded and kept even if the account is deleted, to prevent them being dodged by creating the account again.
- On your first visit the site leaves a small cookie in your browser («fc_da») that only remembers where you came from, for example from Google or a friend's link. We use it to count, all together and without names, how many people arrive from each source. It contains nothing that identifies you, lasts three months and is not used for advertising.
- Only if you accept it in the box shown on your first visit, the site turns on the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram): a Meta cookie that tells us how many people coming from our ads open the site and create a profile. Meta receives the page address, technical browser data and these two events, and handles them under its own privacy policy; we do not send it your nickname, email or games. If you decline, the pixel is not downloaded and the game works the same way. You can change your mind at any time: change your cookie choice.
- With the same consent the site also turns on the Google Ads tag, which tells us how many people coming from our Google ads open the site and create a profile. Google receives the page address, technical browser data and these events, and handles them under its own privacy policy; we do not send it your nickname, email or games. If you decline, this tag is not downloaded either.
- During server updates the state of tables in progress (cards, scores, names and the latest table chat messages) is saved temporarily so the game can resume, and is deleted as soon as the table restarts or in any case within a few hours.
- The language you choose for the game (Italian or English) is remembered in your browser and, if you turn on notifications, together with your phone's subscription, so that notifications and emails reach you in that language.
What it's used for
Only to make the game work: recognising you when you sign in, showing you to other players with your nickname and picture, keeping the leaderboard and your friends. We don't sell the data. The only advertising-related uses are the Meta pixel and the Google Ads tag described above, and only if you accept them.
Who sees it
Other players see your nickname, your picture and your statistics. Your email and account name are not shown.
Deleting your account
In the game: tap your picture at the top, then "Delete account". For safety we send an email to your account's address with a link valid for one hour: the account is deleted only when you open the link and press "Delete permanently" (if it wasn't you who asked, just ignore the email). The email is sent by Firebase (Google), the service we already use for sign-ins and for confirming registration; we use your address only for this and for sign-in emails. If your account has no email address, write to the site owner (see Contacts). We delete your nickname, statistics, leaderboard position, friends and sign-in account (email, name and photo). Only any chat actions decided by the moderators (blocks and suspensions) remain, linked to the account identifier, to prevent them being dodged: for this reason, if you delete your account while your chat is blocked or your account is suspended, the sign-in account remains: once the block is over you can delete it again from the game or by writing to the site owner.
If you signed in with Facebook in the past you can also remove FantaCarte from the apps connected to your Facebook account (Settings → Apps and websites) and ask us to delete the data as described above.
