Free online Solitaire
On FantaCarte you play on your own, whenever you like: Klondike, the classic solitaire, Spider, FreeCell, Pyramid and TriPeaks. Klondike, FreeCell, Pyramid and TriPeaks can be played with French cards or Neapolitan cards. Every game you win raises your Solitaire level.
Klondike
The most famous solitaire: the goal is to move every card to the four foundations, one per suit, from ace to king.
- The columns: 7 with French cards, 6 with Neapolitan cards. The first has one card, the second two and so on; only the last card of each column is face up.
- In the columns cards go in descending order: a 6 on a 7, a jack on a queen. With French cards the colours alternate (red on black, black on red); with Neapolitan cards the suit just has to be different. You can also move a whole run of face-up cards.
- An empty column can only take a king (with Neapolitan cards the king is 10), alone or with the run below it.
- The deck: you turn one card at a time onto the waste pile, and the top card of the waste can be played. When the deck runs out you can turn it over as many times as you like. For an extra challenge there's three-card Klondike: you turn three cards at a time and only the top one can be played (with French cards).
- When you move the last face-up card of a column, the card below turns over on its own.
On FantaCarte just tap a card: it goes where it can on its own, a column first. A quick double tap sends it to the foundation. You can also drag it with your finger or the mouse to the column you want. When every card is face up, the Finish button sends them to the foundations.
Pyramid
The cards form a pyramid: 28 cards in 7 rows with French cards, 21 in 6 rows with Neapolitan cards. The goal is to clear it.
- You remove free cards, those not covered by two cards in the row below.
- You remove them in pairs that add up to 13 with French cards (jack 11, queen 12): for example 8 and 5, or queen and ace. With Neapolitan cards pairs add up to 10: 6 and 4, or knight (9) and ace.
- The king (13, or 10 with Neapolitan cards) is removed on its own.
- The deck helps you: you turn one card at a time and the top card of the waste pile can be paired with a card of the pyramid. You go through the deck three times in all.
If the deck is used up and there are no pairs left, the game is lost.
Spider
Played with two decks (104 cards) in 10 columns. The goal is to build eight runs from king to ace of the same suit in the columns: each complete run is removed on its own.
- Choose the difficulty: 1 suit (all spades, the easiest), 2 suits or 4 suits (the hardest).
- In a column a card goes on one a point higher, of any suit. But only runs of the same suit move together.
- An empty column takes any card or run.
- Tapping the deck deals one card to every column (5 times in all); empty columns must be filled first.
- Score: you start at 500, −1 per move, +100 per complete run.
FreeCell
All cards are face up from the start, in 8 columns. As in Klondike, cards go to the four foundations from ace to king, and down the columns in alternating colours (with Neapolitan cards, different suits).
- At the top there are four free cells: each holds any one card.
- You move one card at a time; a whole run moves only if there are enough free cells and empty columns to pass it through.
- An empty column takes any card. Almost every deal can be won: it's the thinking solitaire.
TriPeaks
28 cards form three peaks; covered cards turn over when you free them. The goal is to clear all the cards from the peaks.
- You remove an open card if it is one higher or one lower than the top waste card, of any suit. The king also goes with the ace.
- When there is nothing to remove, turn a card from the deck.
- The more cards you remove in a row, the more points: 10, then 20, then 30… The top of a peak is worth 100 more, winning 500.
Winnable deals, resume and left-handed mode
- Winnable deals only: in Klondike, Pyramid and TriPeaks the deck is chosen among those that can be won. Turn it off from the Menu.
- Restart this game: from the Menu, start again with the same cards.
- Resume: if you leave halfway the game is saved, and you resume it from the Solitaire screen.
- Left-handed: from the Menu the deck moves to the right and the foundations to the left.
Daily goal and medals
Every day there is a Solitaire goal (for example "Win a Spider" or "Win a solitaire without undoing") worth 60 XP. There are also Solitaire medals: your first win, 25 and 100 solitaires won, 5 in a row, 10 without undoing, and one each for Spider, FreeCell and TriPeaks.
Daily game
Every day there's a daily game: the same deck for everyone, for each solitaire and type of cards. Win it and compare your time with your friends'; the time is measured by the site, from the start to the end of the game.
Help
- Undo: take back a move, as many times as you like.
- Hint: the light bulb highlights a possible move, or the deck if it's worth turning.
- Stuck game: when there are no useful moves left the game tells you, so you can start another one straight away.
- Statistics: games played, win percentage, winning streak, best time and fewest moves, for each solitaire.
- Score: like Windows Solitaire. +10 for each card on a foundation, +5 from the waste to a column and for each card turned up, −15 from a foundation to a column, −100 when you turn the deck over (one card at a time); if you win there's also a time bonus. In Pyramid 5 points per card and 100 for an empty pyramid.
- Automatic finish: in Klondike, when every card is face up they go to the foundations on their own; then the cards bounce down like in classic solitaire (a tap stops them).
- Tables and card backs: choose the table (green felt, wood, marble, trattoria…) and the card back with the Customise button.
