Free online Klondike Solitaire
Klondike is the world's best-known solitaire, the one many people know as "Windows solitaire". On FantaCarte you play it for free in the browser on your phone or computer, with nothing to download and no sign-up.
Klondike rules
- Goal: move every card to the four foundations, one per suit, from ace to king.
- Columns: 7 columns with 1, 2, 3… 7 cards; only the last is face up. When you move the last face-up card, the one below turns over.
- In the columns: build down in alternating colours. You can also move a whole ordered run.
- Empty column: only a king goes there, alone or with the run below it.
- The deck: turn one card at a time (easier) or three at a time (the classic challenge); only the top waste card can be played. When the deck runs out, turn it over again.
Scoring, as in Windows solitaire
| Move | Points |
|---|---|
| A card to a foundation | +10 |
| From the waste to a column | +5 |
| A card turned face up | +5 |
| From a foundation to a column | −15 |
| Recycling the deck (draw one) | −100 |
If you win there's also a time bonus: the faster you are, the more points.
Tips to win
- Turn over hidden cards first: free up the longest columns.
- Don't empty a column unless you have a king to put there.
- Don't rush everything to the foundations: a 3 may still be needed in a column to hold a 2.
- Use Undo and the hint (the light bulb) when you're stuck.
On FantaCarte
One tap sends a card to a column, a quick double tap to the foundation; you can also drag it. There are winnable deals, a daily game to compare with friends, statistics, pause and, on a computer, keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Z, Space, H) and right-click to send a card to the foundation.
